For the seventh consecutive year, the Galleria Chamber of Commerce will do their part to help fill a void in higher education for select graduates of three Houston area high schools. The Galleria Chamber and their scholarship program includes a Chamber College Chest for each recipient.
“Addressing both tuition and supplies allows the Galleria business community to positively impact our scholarship winner’s transition to college life,” said Don Sweat, Galleria Chamber President. Chests include a laptop computer, gasoline cards, linens and other small but costly items essential to a student’s ability to live on campus.

It just figures -- thats all I can say -- that the fourth-largest city in the country wouldnt automatically make it on the list of places vying to be Americas Favorite City.
No, Houston has to audition even to be in the running for the Travel + Leisure title.
Every other major Texas city -- Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin -- automatically qualified for the finals, without being forced through any prelims.
