Established in 1985, the Galleria Chamber of Commerce is the premier business organization in the region. The Chamber works for its members by:
- Being an information source for legislation pertaining to residential, commercial, and retail issues, especially mobility within the Galleria and Uptown Park areas
- Committees which exist to benefit the community and commerce for the Galleria/Uptown area and Houston (i.e.-the Education Committee-which based on need, essays, and a questionnaire, provides four scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors)
- Providing a minimum of three networking/connection events each month, giving members the opportunity to form relationships with each other and to get involved with Chamber initiatives
- Having an annual Golf Classic, the Pathmaker Scholarship Vintner dinner, the Galleria/Uptown Grazin Gras, and the Texas legends Gala all of which provide social contacts with members and non-members to expand their contacts
- Providing information about our members and the Galleria/Uptown area to new businesses, individuals, and 20 million visitors each year (source: Simon & Co.)
- Holding quarterly luncheons with prominent keynote speakers, monthly “Rise and Shine” breakfasts for members to promote their businesses, and “Lunch and Learn” for information of general and unusual interests
- Enabling advertising opportunities for all members with major Houston media, such as: HBJ, BizRadio, Houston Chronicle, Jewish Herald Voice, Coffee News, our website and Galleria Chamber email blasts
- Strategically partnering with other organizations to boost the quality of life for our businesses, residents, and visitors through information and education
